Our name is Cocoon. For us, a Cocoon provides a safe space, a place where stages of change can occur, a place for transformation and emergence, a place to move from the past and renew,
a place where brighter wings can develop.
Huon Cocoon welcomes people from all walks of life and provides an inclusive, non-judgemental and welcoming space. Our team includes psychologists, counsellors, mental health social workers, a massage therapist and an acupuncture therapist. We are an experienced and friendly group, who are highly trained and have extensive knowledge and skills to support people with a wide range of challenges. We are all university trained, nationally registered and continue to advance our knowledge by staying up to date with innovative approaches to assessment and therapy. We offer a range of mind and body services including mental health therapy, physical therapies and assessments of ADHD, IQ and Learning Disorders like Dyslexia.
Each therapsist has different fees and you must contact your therapist directly to confirm fees prior to attending. As a private practice, all services incur fees and bulk billing is not available. To reduce costs, Medicare rebates are available with Medicare Registered therapists. A medicare rebate is a partial refund, provided by Medicare, after the service has been paid for. Medicare will only provide a partial refund when a current Mental Health Care Plan has been provided by your referring practitioner (GP, Paediatrician, Psychiatrist). Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for all services. More information is available on the "FEES & REBATES" tab.

HOW TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT
You must contact therapists directly to make an appointment and confirm fees. Contact details for each therapist are listed below. Please note that each therapist located at Cocoon is part-time, and many work elsewhere. As such replies may take up to ten work days. COCOON is located at 6 Skinner Drive, Huonville. This convenient location is opposite Centrelink and has ample parking nearby. The current premises may be familiar to locals as "the old surgery", with many locals recalling visits as a child. After breathing new life into the premises, this building now continues to provide valued healthcare and wellbeing services.
